We define a BRT corridor as a system that:
- operates with wheels on a road surface and has
- high operational speed,
- good frequency, and
- low headway, while including a
- unique marketing identity.
Our survey is divided into three levels, depending on the amount of data we collect on different corridors:
- Basic: 68 very basic indicators for 300+ corridors in 100+ cities.
- Medium: some important indicators for econometric analyses for ~100 corridors in 50-60 cities.
- Deep: detailed information for 7-8 cities with strong contacts.
Members from WRI, PUC and The University of Sydney have developed documents that compile all the indicators that are included in the Observatory survey, which were later classified into the levels mentioned above, depending on how available the information is.
