Invited Speakers
Ciro Biderman. Associated Professor at the PhD program in public administration at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and associated researcher at the Center for the Study of the Politics and Economics of the Public Sector (CEPESP/FGV). He got his post doc in Urban Economics at MIT on 2007 and his PhD in economics at FGV/EAESP on 2001. He was a visiting fellow at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy from 2006 to 2012 and at the MRP group at the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT (DUSP/MIT). His research interests include urban and regional economics focused on public policies at the sub-national level, with particular emphasis on transport economics and land policies. He was previously the São Paulo City’s Chief of Innovation Officer (2016) and the Chief of Staff of SPTrans (2013-2015), São Paulo City’s Bus Company.
Luiz Sabóia. As Executive Secretary of Public Services, he leads the Program of Immediate Actions in Transit and Traffic for the City of Fortaleza, which includes, among others, cycling policy, public electric car sharing and actions on Public Transportation and road safety. Luiz is also the technical lead of the programs: Partnership for Healthy Cities and Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety, both in partneship with Bloomberg Philanthropies and World Health Organization. Luiz has acted as an officer of the Public Services Regulatory Agency of the State of Ceará, where he held the position of Executive Officer, working in the areas of Electric Power, Basic Sanitation and Transportation. Luiz is graduated in Business Administration and have a Master degree in Planning and Evaluation of Public Policies by Universidade Federal do Ceará. Recently, he attended the Global Road Safety Leadership Course by Johns Hopkins University and GRSP.
Hugo Santana. Director of Transportation at HP Transportes Coletivos. He accumulates more than 14 years of experience in the segment of collective public transport being responsible for the Management of Market Intelligence, Service Design and Operation for Customer Service. Graduated in Law by UNIP with specialization in Business Management by Fundação Dom Cabral. He is also a member of the Technical Transportation Committee (COTEPLAN) of the Metropolitan Region of Collective Transportation in Goiânia and was responsible for the implementation of the first demand-responsive transportation service (DRT) in Latin America, CityBus 2.0.
